The adventure continues

My wife and I have enjoyed our world travels so much that we plan to do another. Expecting one yearly trip for our Go Go retirement years. Our next trip is back to Europe—so many places to go. My previous posts were about our 2023 European trip to France, Spain, and Morocco. Two days into the trip, my sciatic nerve became pinched from rising from the toilet, causing five weeks of intense pain. Getting around on crutches and wheelchairs was quite a different experience.

Although I have managed to get by without any more sciatic episodes, hopefully, touch wood, it won’t appear on this trip. This trip explores different places. (Central Europe and back to Portugal).

Our first stop is in Darwin to visit my son (we will be camping two nights in Kakadu National Park),

then onto Copenhagen, where I’ve heard about the many incredible sights of this northern Danish city. It’s time to check it out. We then fly to Budapest and take an Intrepid tour of the Balkans. Starting in the Hungarian capital, then to Kopacki Rit National Park in Croatia, Novi Sad and Belgrade in Serbia, Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Durmitor National Park in Montenegro,  this 5th-century UNESCO World Heritage site, Kotor in Montenegro, and then finishing in Dubrovnik in Croatia. After the tour, we fly to Porto in Portugal and spend a week in the Algarve at my family’s yearly gathering. My family lives worldwide, so we find a place to get together.

So, to my patron friends, I’ll send out a blog post every so often, linking it with a Facebook post. I hope you will find some entertainment from it or be inspired to venture to these wonderful places. As I say to my boys, you may have the best or the worst time of your life; you’ll never know unless you do it.
