Paris

We only had 3 days in Paris. There were lots of plans for things to do but it’s hard to manage with 9 of us. So we ended up going to different places. The basic things such as the Lueve, Notre Dame, and Versailles, My wife and I had seen previously so it was time for something else. Going back to the building art, every building has the 1700s look to it. Block after Block was similar in design. Trump hadn’t invaded this place. (Photo) The attraction of 1700 century look brings people to the city.

There are Cafes everywhere pick one and perhaps they are all good. Although we remembered from last time that when you sit down at a cafe order straight away, otherwise they leave you waiting. There was one restaurant that had me baffled. Apparently it’s a chain, Le Relais de I Entrecôte (photo) it serves four items; blue, rare, medium, and well done steaks with fries. Although the desert menu had a little more. It was Little E’s birthday My neice’s mother in law and of course we get the birthday song in French. The steak was nice the fries were ordinary and the green sauce tasted like Laksa. For this meal you had to lineup around the block. Wow!

The next day we went out to the palace of Versailles, like the van de belts it was a summer home for Louis the 14th. Massive castle, massive gardens but for the rooms I saw I didn’t see any toilets, lots of rooms but no toilet, now they provide toilets for the tourists. Perhaps they didn’t go back then and everybody was a camel. It was hottest day of the year in Paris and so my brother inlaws brother’s pool was very nice (28 degrees) when we visited them afterwards. They lived near the palace and the day was planned to dine with them that night. The next day we were all travelling down to the south of France in Provence. We hired a house for a week. 14 people in this beautiful country villa.

Next up the very fast train down to Provence area.
