We only had two full days in the singing city. The forecast was for rain but it sprinkled on the first morning and overcast for the rest. We were off to the Garden by the Bays for the morning and perhaps Chinatown for a coffee later. No drama on the hop-on on hop off bus today, although I must say that it has a flaw due to its marketing. The lower level provides aircon and minimal seating. If you were unlucky to get the rear seats, you couldn’t see outside the window due to the bus art. (Photo) Really!
Anyway, the Garden by the bay had two indoor domes; the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome. The forest segment had the Avatar theme, oh yea the movie, the way of water, that I bagged in one of my posts earlier. Although, I wanted to know what I looked like as an Avatar (photo). So they had these booths to transform you. I look like something out of a Monsters Inc movie. Not good!
The Flower Dome was in full bloom, perhaps it’s like this all year round since we walked into a temperature control environment. They had a dragon sculpture on display, made out of tree bark. (Photo) That was my highlight of the place.
After, we hopped on the bus again and headed down for a late lunch to China town. We disembarked at the bus stop and we saw September Coffee across the road. There was an hour wait for a seat. It was 3:30 on a Friday afternoon. Ok a popular spot although life’s an adventure so we went next door to the Cafe Ground @252 which had one table left. They serve Croffles. Ok, we were confused too. WTF is a Croffle? (photo) an imprinted croissant as a waffle topped with Chicken, egg, cheese and a hot sauce (photo). Interesting snack, the coffee was exceptional. A good diversion from our original take.
It is our last night and we both needed was a swim and a cheap kabab to end the night. Our Brussel flights start tomorrow.
Although, we had an unexpected stopover.
