Well, it’s the start of our tour, basically a year of planning. My wife has been retired for two years so she has had plenty of time to put a schedule together. Every time there was an airplane stopover I suggested we stay a few days. Singapore, Belgium, Geneva. Asia, Europe and North America is our destination around the world. Go West says a Yankee explorer. Every time we travel East our sleep patterns are screwed. It’s easier to stay awake longer than go to sleep earlier. Our first stop will be to see our son in Darwin. He moved there this year so he’s still finding his way. If you look at all the brochures about Darwin not much to see unless you travel south. Litchfield Park, Katherine Gorge, the jumping crocodile at Corabee billabong. Nothing in Darwin. So perhaps a few walks were on the agenda.
Now for my Blog post I’ll try not to get too involved with the places more about who I encounter. Although to set the seen I need to tell you where we are going. Ok first Darwin, Singapore, Brussel, France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco Switzerland Canada and then the USA. More about that later.
Here I sit on Mindel beach waiting for the sun to set reflecting. You hear the occasional crack of the whip in the distance. Mick’s whips is putting on a display within the Markets. A first generation man sits on the beach passageway banging his stick to an aboriginal beat, hoping for some coins to be tossed his way. It must be difficult now days, unless you have a tap machine you’ll go without. Although It appears that the Mindel beach markets still use cash. The last hoorah for the coin in Australia. My next post the Kathleen Gorge. Why so many bats?
